An alarm was sounded by police on Monday afternoon over a shooting incident in central Athens. The armed confrontation took place at the intersection of Agiou Meletiou and Konstantinoupoleos streets.
Police forces rushed to the scene with the perpetrators trying to escape, yet the police made a total of six arrests.
After the confrontation and while the police continued their investigations to arrest those who had managed to escape, a car accidentally closed two motorcycles of the DIAS group, on Kifissos Avenue. As a result, the motorcycles fell on the road and the four policemen were injured.
The wounded were transferred to Military Hospital 401 and are being treated out of harm’s way.
