Attiko Metro accepted the offer from the companies Avax, Ghella and Alstom, today during the process of opening the economic offers. The consortium, which in the absence of shocks will be the contractor for the project, which amounts to 1,800 million euros, would have presented the most advantageous offer, which led to the exclusion of the Actor, Ansaldo and Hitachi group.
The information indicates that the Avax consortium made an offer with a discount of 12% (1,158 million euros), while the offer of the group led by Aktor amounted to 1.18 billion euros, which corresponds to a discount of 10.6 %.
Additionally, the technical offering from Avax, Ghella and Alstom received the highest score compared to that of the excluded consortium. The next steps of the largest project co-financed with public funds in recent decades include the writing of the tender minutes by the Attiko Metro tender committee.
Then it remains to be seen whether appeals will be filed, first to the Preliminary Appeals Review Authority and then to the Council of State.
In any case, the unblocking of the economic offers today is an important step for the advance of the project that remained “stagnant” for at least a year and a half.
It occurs six years after the announcement of the project and three years after its auction. The first phase of line 4 of the Alsos Veikou – Goudi metro includes a total of 15 stations (Veikou, Galatsi, Elikonos, Kypseli, Courts, Alexandra, Exarchia, Akadimias, Kolonaki, Evangelismos, Kaisariani, Panepistimioupoli, Ilografou, Z. Ilisou, Z.
The official announcement
The consortium led by AVAX, which offers a discount of 12.19%, is declared a temporary contractor for the project. The offer refers to the construction of the first phase of Metro Line 4 and specifically the Alsos Veikou – Goudi section. The project with a budget of 1.8 billion euros is the largest infrastructure project currently being planned in the European Union and will radically redesign the movement basin in the basin.
OK. Konstantinos Mitzalis, CEO of AVAX stated: “This is undoubtedly an impressive project, not only in terms of improving the quality of life and the movement of the inhabitants of the capital, but also in general because of the key role that infrastructure projects they can play on your course. From the point of view of AVAX we are proud, as demonstrated once again by our great dynamics with the evaluation of our technical offer, but also our competitiveness in the financial part, I would like to warmly thank everyone who has participated so far in the project, for their dedication and effort ”.
It is recalled that the AVAX – Ghella – Alstom consortium is also building the extension of Metro Line 3 to Piraeus, which is expected to be completed in 2022, three stations of which were made available to the public last July. Specifically, these are the Agia Varvara, Korydallos and Nikaia stations.
