Members of the Rubicon Anarchist Collective gathered at the office of renowned infectious disease specialist Eleni Giamarellou on Saturday to protest her recent remarks about the coronavirus pandemic.
Six members of the group entered Mrs. Giamarellou’s office, making critical comments about her statements about divine communion and her suggestions to the public to go on foot when there are many people in the means of transport.
The dialogue between the attackers and the infectious disease specialist is recorded in a video they posted on the team’s website.
In a text, they explain the reasons for their action, citing the unscientific attitude of the infectious disease specialist, noting, among other things, that “Mrs.” Emeritus Professor of Pathology and President of the Hellenic Chemotherapy Society “Eleni Giamarellou has conclusively demonstrated her irresponsibility about the Eucharist, even her statements to the MMM”.
The group’s announcement concludes: “We are responsible to those who want the social base for what will happen and what is happening. We are next to those who need it ”.

Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias spoke about the incident and stated:
