The situation in Attica is characterized by being fragile since the coronavirus seems to be celebrating at a time when the country registers a record number of cases with more than 500 for the first time.

The health authorities of Greece have been put on alert after yesterday’s registration of cases that indicates that the coronavirus pandemic is still spreading, now affecting areas outside Attica.

Local closures have already started in Kozani, followed by Ioannina. However, areas such as Kastoria, Thessaloniki, Fthiotida, Pella are regional units where high speeds are registered in the course of the coronavirus and which are monitored in the last two weeks by Civil Protection and the Committee of Experts of the Ministry of Health.

These are areas of great concern to scientists and it is not excluded that there may be restrictive measures such as those now in force in Kozani.

It is characteristic that of the confirmed incidents, which were announced on Friday afternoon, 227 concerned the Attica Peripheral Unit, 63 the Thessaloniki Peripheral Unit, 31 the Ioannina Regional Unit, 24 the Kozani Peripheral Unit and 20 to the Kastoria District.

Kozani is in a state of alarm (Category 4), with the National Public Health Organization implementing strict restrictive measures, such as universal use of the mask indoors and outdoors, a ban on the operation of restaurants, etc.

Kozani’s deputy mayor almost told MEGA about the shutdown

On the “MEGA Weekend” show, Kozani Deputy Mayor Costas Kyriakidis spoke about the factors that led to the local Lockdown and the need to support the economy.

According to the deputy mayor, many factors led to the closure.

Already in the previous days, the Kozani municipality had expressed its concern about the increase in cases. A special commission was created inside the town hall to see how the municipality will function in the coming days.

“It was something we almost expected,” said the deputy mayor, adding that they were prepared.

Other factors that led to the Lockdown, according to Mr. Kyriakidis, were weather conditions and the relaxation of some citizens in complying with the measures.

“The point is that we must all work together, to observe the measures in their entirety so that only 14 days of quarantine remain and return to normality,” he said.

“Unless realistic and effective measures are taken to support the local economy, we will experience the worst,” he added.

The coronavirus “flirts” with young people

Yesterday, 227 of the 508 cases were recorded in Attica, which is still at level 3 of the health insurance map, with the highest risk bell “ringing.” Referring to the epidemiological situation that prevails in the capital, the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection, Nikos Hardalias, pointed out that the Attica Region is currently further away from level 4 than other areas, while the Central Attica Sector is below this limit. but we must all remain vigilant.

The thoughts of the government

According to information from MEGA, Kyriakos Mitsotakis is following the data and proposals of the experts and will not hesitate to impose a blockade on Attica, if deemed necessary.

The Prime Minister’s associates clarify that he listens to infectious disease specialists, monitors the situation and, if he deems it necessary, will also quarantine the basin.

At the moment, the outlook at the political level is that the second wave of the pandemic is being adequately addressed, which is attributed to the prudence of the majority of citizens.

The government appears to be following the position of the rest of the EU, avoiding general roadblocks and traffic bans, such as those imposed in France.

In this spirit, the government spokesman, Stelios Petsas, said late Thursday that “at the moment there is no possibility of closure.” “We are ready at all times to follow the advice of the experts and impose, if necessary, a local blockade, where the statistics, in accordance with all the data we receive and the instructions we receive from Europe, recommend that we have such measures” added. .

Sanitary pumps in nursing homes

An alarm again signaled to health authorities on Friday night when they were informed of cases of coronavirus in a nursing home in Glyfada.

According to information, five residents of the nursing home have already been transferred overnight to the “Evangelismos” hospital, while the results of tests on other inmates are awaited during the day.

According to the deputy mayor of Glyfada, Dimitris Akrivos, to THEMA 104.6, the alarm “started from an employee who tested positive at the beginning of the week, from what the person in charge told me.”

As he said “the first two EODY tests were negative but the third test found positive cases.”

This is the ninth incident in a nursing home since the beginning of the epidemic in Greece.

It was preceded by a clinic in Attica last April and an Elderly Care Unit in Thessaloniki of the “corona virus outbreaks” in which we had dozens of victims.

Cases have been recorded to date in units of Agios Panteleimon, Maroussi, Moschato, “Estia Papageorgiou” in Thessaloniki, as well as in another nursing home in Nea Makri during the first epidemic wave.
