Koronovirus: The first blockade of the second wave in Kozani – Detailed measures, shock to the local community | HELLAS

A very strong “bell” is yesterday’s closure decision due to the outbreak of coronavirus cases in Kozani.

The West Macedonia region has been showing an excessive number of cases lately, with the result that Civil Protection proceeded with emergency measures. This is the first local confinement in the country, during the second wave of the pandemic, which sounds like a serious “bell” for the rest of the country, as in several areas there has been a significant increase in cases recently.

N. Hardalias is expected to travel to the area on Saturday in order to have contacts with the local government to discuss the situation and clarify the measures.

The measures of the confinement in Kozani

Kozani has now entered the alarm level of category 4 (increased risk) and is the first region to enter this category.

The planned measures are the mandatory use of a mask in all indoor workplaces, but also in all outdoor areas, the suspension of all meetings in public and private spaces, as well as the prohibition of movement outside the Unit Kozani Regional.

Likewise, the operation of the following is suspended:

• Courts, Prosecutors, Mortgage Offices, all kinds of Cadastral Offices and Branches of the “Hellenic Property Registry”
• Archaeological sites, museums, caves
• Live performances and auditions, other performing arts
• Movie screenings
• Rehearsals, Television and Cinematography: Suspended Film and Television Filming – Videoconference Essays
• Nightclubs including banquets, catering, bars
• Musical stage

It is observed that the operation of schools and all kinds of educational structures continues with the mandatory use of masks everywhere, while for Higher Education Institutions (IES) only tele-education will be applied.

Regarding the operation of the following: Public Services, Private Companies, Transportation, Food Stores (eg. Supermarkets, minimarkets, bakeries, butchers, fishmongers), Public Markets, Places of Worship / Religious Ceremonies, Hospitals, Hospitals, Hospitals, Units of care for the elderly, centers for the chronically ill, structures and shelters for vulnerable groups, temporary shelters for the homeless, social structures for the immediate treatment of poverty (dormitories, nurseries, social groceries, social pharmacies, dormitories, shelters), Training of Drivers and Technical Inspection Services of Vehicles, applies what is established in the Official Gazette, Edition B, 4484 / 11-10-2020.

In addition, a STRONG RECOMMENDATION is directed to the residents of the wider Kozani area to be especially careful and strictly observe all self-protection measures against COVID-19 infection.

Attica: more than 2,500 cases in October, Petsas rules out closure

Attica, naturally, remains at the center of the pandemic. Yet despite the large number of cases, it doesn’t appear to be in danger of becoming the second city to go to a local shutdown. The government spokesman, Stelios Petsas, clarified once again that there is no possibility of a shutdown at the moment.

“There is no such possibility at the moment,” he clearly said in a question to ANT1. Mr. Petsas pointed out that “as the Prime Minister said, upon reaching the European Council, we are ready at all times to follow the advice of the experts and impose if necessary a local closure, where the statistics, according to all the data we obtain and the instructions we receive from Europe also recommend that we have such measures. ”

The government spokesperson noted that Greece is in a good position in relation to other European countries, adding that “to maintain this we must surround the cases locally, as in Kozani, and in general, throughout the territory, to implement the many measures that we have already taken ”.

Then he pointed out, regarding the coronavirus measures taken in Paris, that “it is a characteristic bell for all of us”, to add that “we understand that we must take care of what we have in Greece.”

In Attica, a total of 2,559 cases were recorded in October. Yesterday only 207, of the 453 cases announced by EODY.

It should be noted that, as noted a week ago, during the presentation of the health security map, the decision to change the alarm levels is made based on epidemiological data in combination with the ICUs available in each area. That is why we can see areas with fewer cases that blush more easily than others that have more cases, such as Attica.

Emerging cases also in Thessaloniki

At the same time, cases show a sharp increase, however, also in Thessaloniki. In three days, from a single-digit number, the cases reached 56 yesterday, with none of them being related to any known confluence or trip to the interior.

The cases of Ioannina (18), Kozani (22), Fthiotida (11) and Pella (8) were also at high levels yesterday. At the same time, the number of 13 victims yesterday brought the total to 482 deaths, this number being the highest recorded in a 24-hour period. At the same time, EODY announced that there are a total of 82 patients intubated in the ICU, while the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic amounts to 23,947.
