Coronavirus cases in our country are at record levels, since 453 new infections were announced on Thursday, only seven less than the largest number of cases ever recorded in our country.

At the same time, the increase in deaths is dramatic. The number of victims of the pandemic is 13, a number equal to the negative “record” of deaths that occurred on October 11. Now, the death toll rises to 482, while 90 (!) It is from September 30 to today, in just two weeks.

Indicative of the severity of the situation and the spread of the virus is that the Kozani Peripheral Unit was set to alert level 4, and the area entered a state of local lockdown.

453 cases

On Thursday, EODY announced 453 new cases of the new virus in the country, of which 63 are associated with known outbreaks and 27 were detected after checks at the country’s gateways.

The total number of cases is 23,947, of which 55.6% are men.

3434 (14.3%) are considered to be related to trips from abroad and 9698 (40.5%) are related to an already known case.

82 intubated

82 of our fellow citizens are being treated by intubation. Their average age is 67 years. 24 (29.3%) are women and the rest are men. 93.9% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years or older. 252 patients have been discharged from the ICU.

Negative record with 13 deaths

Finally, we have 13 more registered deaths and 482 total deaths in the country. 181 (37.6%) women and the rest men.

The mean age of our deceased fellow citizens was 79 years and 96.3% had an underlying disease and / or were 70 years or older.

Age distribution

The average age of the cases is 40 years (range 0 to 102 years), while the average age of death is 79 years (range 25 to 102 years).

The age distribution of (a) total cases, (b) cases that resulted in death, and (c) patients treated by intubation is as follows:

Geographic dispersion

The map shows the geographical distribution of total COVID-19 cases (since the beginning of the epidemic) by Regional Unit of the country, according to the declared address of permanent residence of the patient, or the address of temporary residence for tourists and other temporary residents. in Greece.

It includes both cases with a travel history (“imported”) and cases with possible national transmission.

Increase in deaths

In fact, in the last three weeks, according to the detailed table with the pandemic data presented by “A Vima”, there is an increase in deaths by 36%.

It is indicative that in the last week more than 50 (including 11 in the last 24 hours) deaths from coronavirus were registered, which is a record since the start of the pandemic, with an average of around 7 deaths every 24 hours, when the relative average condition three weeks ago was five deaths.

Furthermore, there are fluctuations in the number of intubated patients as the high mortality “reduces” – according to this macabre statistic – the number of intubated and the total hospitalized in the ICU.

It is observed that in the last week it is estimated that 54 people were intubated (in this number there may be small differences), with a percentage of around eight per day, when the relative average of the past week was about 9 ICU patients in this critical condition.
