Inside the illegal Turkish Navtex in an area of the Greek continental shelf is the Turkish seismographic ship Oruts Reyes since 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
It is moving southwest with its transmitters closed and accompanied by Turkish warships that have formed a shield around the ship.
Ankara appears to have chosen not to send the Oruts Reyes immediately too close to the Greek coast, as it was found some 30 nautical miles south of Strongyli and Ro, albeit within the illegal Navtex.
From the speed of Monte Reyes, which is 5 to 7 knots, it is concluded that it probably has not laid cables for seismic surveys.
The fleet is on high alert
From the first moment, units of the Greek Navy, both surface and submarines, have been deployed in the area, closely monitoring the movements of the Turkish ships. If necessary, these units will be further strengthened.
The head of GEETHA has even instructed all branches of the Armed Forces to be on alert.
Turkey gets closer and closer: what illegal Navtex shows
Ankara’s new illegal Navtex for Uruts Rey is the fourth in a row issued by Turkey.
Block an area further north than the previous ones that began on August 10. The map of the areas occupied by Navtex in a row, shows that Turkey is getting closer and closer to the Megisti complex, on Rhodes and Karpathos, in areas very close to the Greek territorial waters, reaching 6.5 nautical miles.

On Tuesday, the meeting between Mitsotakis and Maas in Maximou
The meeting that Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will hold with German Foreign Minister Haiko Maas on Tuesday at the Palace of the Maxims is seen as particularly critical. Mr Mitsotakis is expected to raise the Turkey issue directly in light of the new developments, while he has already briefed the President of the European Council, Charles Michel.
It should be noted that Mr. Maas canceled his trip to Ankara and will visit only Greece and Cyprus.
