“Some semi-scholarly immoralists made the Dawn brochure – They don’t even deserve to spit”

A political earthquake has sparked the cover of “Avgi” which attempts to identify ND presidents and prime ministers, Antonis Samaras and Kyriakos Mitsotakis respectively with the Nazi Golden Dawn formation.

Journalist Vangelis Siafakas, a former newspaper employee, talks about the old “Avgi” and ignites the “clique of semi-educated, power-hungry immoralists who dominated Koumoundourou”, who took on the “huge burden of historical value” from Avgi and I destroy it. “They stole all of her property and found her willing to turn it into a cheap, propaganda and unreliable pamphlet. “People capable of great misery like today’s who are getting a great slogan, in one of the great battles against fascism and racism, ‘ARE NOT INNOCENT’ and they are breaking it for three cents of cheap opposition,” he said in a post. Mr. Siafakas and concludes: “You don’t even deserve to spit.”

It was the fall of 1982. At the entrance of the festival “AVGIS-THOURIOU” in the grove of Nea Smyrni, Grigoris Giannaros and Sofianos Chrysostomidis welcomed the visitors as hosts. “Are we waiting for you when you come?” Grigoris told me and Sofianos squeezed my arm. I went, my trip to AVGI lasted ten years, what I learned, what they taught me there all my life, even now, accompany the lines that I write to you. I have seen great teachers with heavy names in the profession and some in history. There was also Tassos Vournas, intellectual and historian, Stavros Karras, founding historical member of the KKE INTERIOR who wrote the penetrating political commentaries, Vassilis Konstantinidis, “Alexandrinos” with the magic pen, Lefteris politou and left his Asimakis Panselinos, Telis Siamantas cartoon in the cultural with their acquaintances and their erudition with Michel Dimopoulos and George Bramos in theaters, the duet (Voulelis, Fakatselis) in the international to add, the great Mermigas and Tsouparopoulos since then, who made great careers in financial information, and of course the excellent Eliza Papadaki, my beloved Babis Georgoulas in the comments and my psychoanalysis, Vassilis Paikos, who wrote in de Voudouris. And others in the offices of Agios Konstantinos and dozens of “outsiders” who wrote, analyzed, shed scientific light. Dozens of names who would like to have great press bands that give great rewards and preferred AVGI because it gives prestige to their texts.
These were my teachers and I and the “new group” Spyropoulos, Petroulakis, Karis, Antaios, Papapanagiotou, Tsaousis, Diamantakou, Afendouli and others. We learned everything, how we write, how much we write, what titles we put, how the correction is made, how our text is paged, everything. But not only that, we learned what it means, validity, objectivity, civilized confrontation and above all they taught us personal and professional ethics. We learned to “weigh” the words, to respect.
And AVGI beyond that gave us its prestige everywhere, its prestige, everyone knew that we would be serious and good journalists for being in AVGI. I have experimented with dozens of ministers from all governments. And all this the little DAWN with the enormous historically valuable load that they made with their pen, with their backwardness, with their flame, with their health, many and good.

This was squandered by a clique of half-educated, power-hungry immoralists who ruled Koumoundourou. They stole all her property and found her willing to turn it into a cheap, propaganda and unreliable pamphlet. People capable of great misery like today who take a great slogan, in one of the great battles against fascism and racism, the: “ARE NOT INNOCENT” and destroy it for three cents of cheap opposition. With soul pain I tell you: “You don’t even deserve to spit.”
