The map of health security and protection against Covid-19 infection was presented on Friday by the Minister of Digital Government, Kyriakos Pierrakakis.

The map is available on the website covid19.gov.gr and will be updated every 14 days based on the recommendations of the special committee of epidemiologists and specialists in infectious diseases or more frequently when required by health or epidemiological indicators.

As of October 12, the use of a mask indoors and outdoors with color is mandatory throughout the country.

Restaurant opening hours will be determined by levels of health insurance, while the same will be true for cinemas, theaters and concert halls.

Implementation of the measures will take place at the regional unit level unless exceptional circumstances arise that justify exceptions (for example, at the municipal level).

The determination of the level of risk in each area depends on the increasing or decreasing trend of the epidemiological variables, such as the number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants, the indicators of completeness of the Health system (eg, single beds used and beds of Units of Intensive Care) and epidemiological situation, as reflected in the follow-up data.

In detail, the separation: level one: preparedness, level two: vigilance, level three: increased vigilance, and level four: increased risk.

Schematically, the levels are presented in the following colors.

Level 1: Green

Level 2: yellow

Level 3: orange

Level 4: red

The geographical reference and the implementation of the measures is carried out at the regional unit level, unless exceptional circumstances arise in accordance with the protocols of the Ministry of Health and Civil Protection that justify exceptions at the local level within the regional unit.

Information on precautionary measures in each region of the country can be done in three ways: a) entering a postal code in the corresponding field b) selecting the regional unit in the corresponding menu or c) clicking on the area of ​​interest on the map .

The map will be updated every 14 days based on the recommendations of a special committee on infectious diseases of the Ministry of Health or more frequently when required by health and epidemiological indicators. The definition of measures and rules is subject to modifications based on the latest scientific and research data.
