His wave coronavirus epidemic rises higher and higher over the territory, threatening it even more public health Y economy.

In Attica, it has already signaled a greater alarm compared to the rest of the country. Competent scientific and health authorities constantly develop and implement strategies to deal with the invisible enemy. The numerical and statistical data collected from the country’s public hospitals – behind which, of course, as the professor had pointed out Sotiris Tsiodras, there are people and their stories: they help improve these strategies.

According to the latest updated information available to protothema.gr, 3 out of 4 patients with Covid-19 infection are hospitalized in Attica.

The hospitalizations clearly reflect the viral load that the basin is carrying at the moment, but the population density compared to other areas. Attica in terms of population is half the size of the country.

In particular, 56% of all patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the 1st Sanitary District (RDA) and 19% of the patients are in the hospitals of the other RDA of the basin. This fact alone shows the pressure exerted due to the epidemic on the Attica health system, which although it has a large number hospitals, but in the current period continuously grants general beds to coronavirus beds to cope.

A smaller percentage of patients (5%) is concentrated in the hospitals of the 3rd RAE of Macedonia and the neighboring 4th SAR of East Macedonia-Thrace (6%). The 5th RDA of Thessaly and Central Greece treats 5% of patients infected with coronary arteries and the 6th RDA of Peloponnese, Epirus and the Ionian Islands treats 4% of patients. In the 7th RAE of Crete, where the epidemic has subsided, only 1% of the country’s patients are hospitalized. Finally, 4% are hospitalized in military hospitals.

Intubated

Intubation, one of the indicators of the course of the epidemic, according to experts, is also focused on the basin, after the increase in hospitalizations due to infection. COVID-19 found in hospitals in the largest region of the country.

According to the Ministry of Health, 8 out of 10 intubated patients are hospitalized in Attica.

The greatest burden on these patients, a burden of course for the health system that provides as many beds as necessary in this emergency situation and postpones regular non-emergency surgeries, is eliminated by the 1st RAE hospitals. The percentage of intubated is 49% while in the 2nd RAI it is 31%.

9% of patients requiring intubation are hospitalized in military hospitals.

In the 3rd RIA of Macedonia 5% of intubated patients are registered, while in the 4th RIA of East Macedonia-Thrace in this period of time no intubated is mentioned.

In the 5th RDA of Thessaly and central Greece the percentage of intubated is 3% and in the 6th RIA of Peloponnese, Epirus and the Ionian Islands it is 1% of patients with Covid-19 infection.

Finally, in the 7th RAE From crete the percentage of intubated is 2%.
