The ghost of the coronavirus looms over Attica with the inhabitants of many areas terrified. In Agios Panteleimon, after what happened in the nursing home, residents are circulating everywhere wearing masks, characterizing their area as a health bomb and calling for a local closure.
Although the measure of masks everywhere has not been applied in Agios Panteleimon, the residents take their own measures, wearing masks everywhere and in every movement.
The detection of both cases in the elderly care unit but mainly the 20 positive rapid tests yesterday, multiplied the anxiety of the residents.
The areas of central Athens that remain in red are:
- Saint Panteleimon
- Hive
- Victoria Square
- Omonoia Square
- Silk factory
- Vathi Square
Citizens’ concern for cases is also evident among immigrants living in our country, given the difficulties they face in their way of life. Like many people, she is forced to live in small apartments.
A large number of residents of the area move with masks and in the open air, while they have limited their movements to a minimum.
The area, residents say, has been abandoned by the state. The image of the fountain in front of the church is indicative.
Residents of the affected area are concerned and urge the government to take drastic measures before it is too late.
