In the solution of using a traffic light, so that car traffic occurs alternately. from the full width of the remaining tunnel “Lombarda” (ss Karamanlis Holes), concluded the Attica Region.
This temporary solution refers to the period of time during which the repair works of the damage caused in a part of the tunnel will be carried out.
The traffic light is expected to turn on at noon today. Until then, the vehicle traffic passing through Athens – Sounio will be carried out through the Evelpidon Avenue – Agia Marina Avenue axis.
Attica Regional Governor George Patoulis will visit the site during the day to inspect the works and stay informed about the project implementation.
It should be noted that the option to activate the traffic light was approved in consultation with the Athens traffic, as it is considered that it achieves the highest level of road safety for road users with the least possible inconvenience.
