Azerbaijani ground forces today launched a new large-scale attack in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

According to the Russian news agency TASS, citing the Armenian army, the troops advanced towards the area, which is under the control of Armenian separatists, from the north and the south.

The German agency dpa said it was not possible to confirm the reports from an independent source.

At the same time, the Armenian Defense Ministry also reported that three aircraft of the Azerbaijan Air Force were shot down in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, as reported by TASS.

However, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry today denied reports from Armenia about the downing of planes.

“We declare once again that not a single aircraft of the Azerbaijani Air Force was shot down,” Defense Ministry spokesman Vagif Diargali told reporters.

According to him, the Azerbaijani drones “continue to destroy the military equipment of the Armenian forces.”

Yesterday, the Armenian Defense Ministry spoke of an attack on the capital Stepanakert of Nagorno-Karabakh by Azerbaijani forces.

Ministry spokesman Artsrun Hovannisian did not specify what kind of attack the Azerbaijani troops launched or what weapons were used.

However, he added that the attack injured civilians and rescue teams and destroyed the city’s infrastructure.

Eyewitnesses reported several explosions in the capital of the separatist republic.

“They beat Stepanakert,” Artsrun Hovannisian said, while also tweeting about events in the region.
