Koronovirus: Emergency Warning for Thebes and Chalkida – Local closure in 5 villages | HELLAS

The General Secretariat for Civil Protection addressed a strong recommendation for self-protection measures against the coronavirus in the settlements of the Municipality of Tebas and the Municipality of Chalkida on Wednesday night (9/30).

The recommendation was issued after the information that dozens of people, from the towns of Mouriki-Platanakia, Ypato and Loutoufi, -related to each other- had attended a funeral in the town of Mouriki.

According to the same information, it is expected to take place tracking 1200 contacts.

The Secretary General of Civil Protection sent an emergency alert to the residents of the settlements of Thebes, Boeotia and the Municipality of Chalkida, Evia, to faithfully observe the protection measures against the coronavirus, after the data that emerged from the tracking of a 63-year-old native who tested positive. “NIMTS”.

Specifically, by order of the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management, Nikos Hardalia, for “urgent reasons to address a serious risk to public health and in particular to limit the spread of the effects of the COVID-19 disease, it is addressed A STRONG RECOMMENDATION to:

• Mouriki-Platanakia, Ypato and Loutoufi of the Municipality of Tebas of the Regional Unit of Viotia and
• Lucissia of the Chalkida City Council of the Evia Regional Unit,

for the faithful compliance of the following self-protection measures:

• Stay indoors and avoid any unnecessary movement.
• Wear a mask in all areas, indoors and outdoors.
• The absence of students in any school unit of all levels and
• “Do not transfer public and private sector workers from these settlements to their work, to avoid the risk of dispersion and protect other workers.”

After consultation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, a strong recommendation is made to employers, who employ residents of these areas, to accept the absence of employees, without further consequences.

It is observed that as of tomorrow 10-01-2020 in the morning, four (4) EODY Mobile Health Groups (KOMY) will be located in these settlements, in the local Municipal Warehouses (Mouriki-Platanakia, Ypato, Loutoufi and Loukissia ), to carry out sampling controls.

The above strong recommendation is valid until the completion of the control process in the mentioned areas, when a new announcement will be issued.
