The Joint Ministerial Decision was published in the Official Gazette for the temporary suspension of the operation of private companies and other public meeting places and for the mandatory use of masks in certain areas of the country from Saturday (09/26) to October 4 2020 to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
The decision is implemented within the boundaries: a) of the Halkidiki, Chania, Lesbos, Zakynthos, Heraklion, Pella, Pieria, Imathia, Kilkis and Trikala Regional Units and b) of the Municipality of Mykonos.
Suspension and operating conditions of private companies
In the above areas, the operation of stores of healthy interest is prohibited from 12.00 to 17.00 The prohibition covers the activities of restaurant services and mobile catering units / KAD 56.10, catering / KAD 56.30, catering for events (catering ) / KAD 56.21, including these eight-digit numbers, exploitation of property for events / events) KAD 93.29.11.03 and organization of entertainment events (weddings and the like) / KAD 93.29.19.01.
The activities are allowed only in the part related to the distribution of products (delivery), for the services of delivery of products in a package from the store (take away) maintaining the distance of 1.5 meters between customers, as well as the drive-through and excluding the supply of alcoholic beverages from all stores that carry out the activities occupied by its KAD.
The decision also covers similar activities provided within the tourist accommodation. The maximum number of people allowed at each business table is 4 people, except in the case of first-degree relatives, so the maximum number of people in the table seats increases to 6 people.
The operation of open air markets is suspended, but the operation of public markets is allowed as follows:
a) In each public market of sellers (producers and professionals) who are active in it, according to their license, sellers participate at a rate of 50%, by category of sellers (categories of sellers: producers and professionals).
b) The operators of the public markets publish a table with the participants, each time, sellers (producers and professionals) in the public markets of their responsibility.
c) The minimum distance between the vendors’ counters is set at 5 meters with the space between the free space of objects.
In case of infringement, an administrative fine of up to 10,000 euros and suspension of operation for up to 20 calendar days is imposed. For natural persons, the administrative fine for each offense is 150 euros.
Suspension of operation of private retail companies
The operation of any type of retail trade of goods, such as kiosks, convenience stores, warehouses, tobacconists, grocery stores, bakeries, confectioneries, is suspended from 12:00 at night until 5:00 am. the next day. The suspension does not apply to pharmacies, gas stations and vending machines, except for the supply of alcoholic beverages.
The work of preparation, production and maintenance are allowed by the work personnel of the companies when they are closed and in the companies that operate in violation of the legislation a fine of 5,000 euros is imposed for each violation.
Suspension of events
The celebration of any entertainment event that involves the presence of the public is suspended. Companies or individuals that organize entertainment events, in contravention of the decision, are fined 5,000 euros.
Obligation to wear a mask
The use of a non-medical mask is mandatory, both indoors and outdoors. The following are excluded from the obligation: a) people for whom the use of a mask is not indicated for medical reasons accredited by the corresponding documentation, such as respiratory problems and b) children under 3 years of age. A fine of 150 euros is imposed for each violation.
