In total, 18 pregnancies of coronavirus-positive mothers have been treated since the start of the pandemic until today at the 3rd EKPA Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic at Attikon Hospital.
The latest incident concerns a woman who was diagnosed with covid-19 from Samos. Yesterday an airlift took place, in a transport capsule. The woman was in the 41st week of pregnancy and the delivery was performed by cesarean section and a girl was born in excellent condition with a birth weight of 3,435 grams. Molecular testing of the newborn is expected.

Eight interest rates delivered SARS-CoV-2-negative, healthy full-term babies in the specially designed area of EKPA’s 3rd Obstetrics-Gynecology Clinic. One woman gave birth with a normal delivery, one with a suction embryo and six with a caesarean section, due to obstetric signs.
Five pregnant women with a pregnancy in the first trimester were hospitalized with symptoms of Covid-19 infection and four with a pregnancy in the third trimester. A woman miscarried in the ninth week of pregnancy.
The special ward of Attikon Hospital
The pancreas and pregnant women with SARS-CoV-2 infection receive treatment in the special ward of Attica Hospital for COVID-19 infections. Newborns are treated in an incubator in a special room in the early neonatal unit for follow-up.
The director of the 3rd Clinic of Obstetrics – Gynecology, Professor Sofia Kalantaridou, in collaboration with the Head of the Delivery Room Eleni Alexiou and the Hospital Infections Committee of Attica Hospital have established a management protocol for the SARS-CoV virus -2 either normally or by cesarean section.
