Many of the state’s services to citizens are now provided through the Internet, while the new bill that passed in Parliament and refers to digital governance is moving in this direction.
Speaking on the “MEGA Weekend” program George Georgantas, Deputy Minister of Digital Government, highlighted that these are processes that had already been launchedSimply put, the health crisis acted as an accelerator of digital governance.
The Vice Minister of Digital Government affirmed that the law that was approved “brings together all the old scattered legislative regulations” He stressed that it also creates the framework for the next decade.
Referring to the changes brought by the new law, Mr. Georgantas spoke about the personal number that he will replace, among others, AFM and AMKA and the revolution that it will bring to citizen transactions with the State.
This personal number is a twelve digit code, the first nine of which will consist of the TIN, while the other three will be letters or numbers. “In less than two years it will replace all the figures that we have in our transactions with the State.”
