A man, who was bitten by a “black widow”, is being treated at the Regional University Hospital in Patras.

The patient who has been transferred to Rio is a 36-year-old young man from Aigio. Serum with antidote must be administered and transfer from Athens is required. In order for the medicine to arrive quickly, a complete bridge had to be rebuilt between Athens and Patras.

The 6th RAE commander, Giannis Karvelis, instructed his driver to depart for Athens with a final destination at the Poison Center in Aglaia Kyriakou, with whom he had previously had a telephone conversation.

However, in consultation with the local police, a patrol has already arrived in Aglaia Kyriakou, where the police will collect the serum and deliver it to Corinto to the driver of the VI RAE commander, who will take it to the Rio hospital for the young man from 36 years.

Remember that 11 month old baby in late July, in an area of Amfilochia, was bitten by a black spider while playing in the backyard of his house. The boy was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit of the University Hospital of Patras where he was administered anti-cranial serum, which arrived in the same way from Athens.
