Koronaios: Salos with the statements of the metropolitan of Karpenisi – Images of crowds in churches

Salos has been caused by the attitude of the metropolitan of Karpenisi, who in his statements on the occasion of the feast of the patron saint Agios Nikolaos Karpenissiotis, urged the faithful not to follow the measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

“There are no cases in Evritania and measures imposed in other areas are not necessary,” he said, citing another dangerous example that must be avoided amid an outbreak of the pandemic.

In fact, in the footage broadcast by STAR Central Greece, none of the worshipers wore a mask, while the crowd inside the church was evident.

Reactions

Evritania deputy Costas Kontogeorgos expressed regret that almost none of the faithful wore a mask inside the church during the divine service.

There is no room for complacency, stressed the Mayor of Karpenisi, Nikos Souliotis, and the Deputy Governor of Evritania, Aris Tassios.
