The Minister of Health, Vassilis Kikilias, referred in detail Thursday night to the measures that the State will take to combat the spread of coronavirus.
On the occasion of the Prime Minister’s televised message to citizens about his treatment COVID-19Kikilias commented that “the prime minister spoke very correctly about the value of human life.”
“With the great effort we all made together, we managed to have the fewest deaths. This can continue with individual protection measures, ”said the Health Minister, speaking to Star’s main newsletter.
Sir. Kikilias added for K. Mitsotakis’s message: “Human life comes first. It is also the lives of people trying to earn a living. That was the soul of the prime minister’s sermon.”
Regarding the measures focused on areas with a high epidemiological burden, the Minister of Health revealed that there are 900 cases of coronavirus in the historic center of Athens, which is why screening tests have been started.
“Already in the center of Athens there are units of the Ministry of Health that carry out controls on citizens and vulnerable groups,” Mr. Kikilias stressed about the State’s effort to have a complete picture of the spread of the coronavirus in the capital.
He also added that “the next day has to do with quarantined hotels»To protect citizens for 14 days with little or no symptoms.
For healthcare workers Mr. Kikilias responded that he understands the great fight they are giving and affirmed that he is proud of them but also that 1,200 ICU beds will be added to combat the coronavirus, which have already begun to be provided for the treatment of patients. He also recalled the hiring of 6,200 people in the health sector.
