The anti-terrorist raid raided a warehouse at 16 Anastasiou Zinni Street in Koukaki, where police found explosives and weapons.

The operation was carried out on Wednesday afternoon and the Counterterrorism arrested two men, 38 and 42 years old, and a 36 year old woman, accused of possession of weapons and explosives.

One of them is said to be involved in the kidnapping of businessman George Mylonas in Thessaloniki. This is the 42-year-old man who rented the warehouse and who had been accused in the past of being an accomplice of Vassilis Paleokostas in the kidnapping of businessman George Mylonas. According to the information, the 42-year-old had introduced himself as the owner of a publishing house and had published Vassilis Paleokostas’s book, while in 2014 he had tried to escape abroad.

According to police sources, these are old acquaintances, with the authorities investigating their relationship with internal terrorism and with the OLA (People’s Fighters Group).

The second man – also known to the Police – and his girlfriend were arrested in a house, where a search followed, when two pistols were found.
The operation began on the afternoon of 09/23/2020 and is ongoing.
