Nikos Hardalias announced additional measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus, including the suspension of outdoor theater performances.

The Deputy Minister of Civil Protection, Nikos Hardalias, while briefing the authors on the coronavirus, announced additional measures, including the suspension of all open-air theater performances and concerts, except for summer cinemas. The measure will take effect on Thursday.

He also announced that a special platform is being created on gov.gr where citizens can be informed about the measures in force in their area.

Mr. Hardalias, commenting on what is said about the confinement or taking additional measures, pointed out that “the purpose is not to take additional measures,” but to implement what is in effect.

“We are in a critical phase in Attica and especially in the center of Athens. Temporary and extraordinary measures are foreseen in the Attica region. Lockdown is the last resort in dealing with a situation. I think we are quite far from the confinement. At the moment we are not even talking about the universal use of a mask. The goal is not to take more steps, to consistently implement what has already been announced. If we apply the mask of the triptych – distances – hygiene is the best response to the virus. “Depending on the results of the traces, we will decide the next measures,” he said.
