Monday evening (09/21) around 9:00 p.m. the referee Daniele De Sandis and his partner, Eleonora Manda, were killed by a stranger in their Lecce apartment.
According to Italian reports, the victims were stabbed by the assailant and there are testimonies according to which a man escaped from the apartment a few minutes after the murder with a knife in his hand.
Daniele De Sandis had previously led matches in Italy’s second and third divisions.
