Although EODY announced 170 new coronavirus infections on Sunday, a significantly lower number than on Saturday (240) and Friday (339), the increase in patients admitted to the ICU is cause for concern.
In total in our country we now have 15,142 confirmed cases of Covid-19, while deaths from coronavirus have reached 338.
All this while starting tomorrow, Monday, new strict measures will be implemented in Attica to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Today we announce 170 new cases of the new virus in the country, of which 33 are associated with known outbreaks and 12 were detected after controls at the country’s gateways. The total number of cases is 15,142, of which 55.7% are men.
2,591 (17.1%) are considered related to trips from abroad and 6,348 (41.9%) are related to an already known case.
78 of our fellow citizens are being treated by intubation. Their average age is 68 years. 24 (30.8%) are women and the rest are men. 70.5% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years or older. 177 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
Finally, we have 7 more deaths registered and 338 deaths in total in the country. 126 (37.3%) women and the rest men. The mean age of our dying fellow citizens was 78 years and 96.4% had an underlying disease and / or were 70 years or older.
The geographical distribution of new cases
Attica is again the region with the highest number of daily cases (89), while 22 cases have been identified in Samos, 11 in Thessaloniki and 19 cases are under investigation.
Particularly:
- 12 cases during controls carried out at the country’s entry gates
- 3 imported cases that came voluntarily to be examined
- 89 cases in the Attica region, of which 12 are associated with known outbreaks, while 3 cases report recent travel within the country
- 11 cases in PE Thessaloniki
- 1 case in PE Ioannina
- 1 case in Kalymnos prefecture
- 2 cases in PE Corinto
- 3 cases in PE Pella, of which 1 reports a recent trip within the country
- 4 cases in PE Pieria
- 2 cases in PE Preveza
- 22 cases in PE Samos, of which 21 are connected by confluence with the Samos KYT
- 1 case in PE Trikala
