Two more Greeks lost the battle with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, raising the balance of the pandemic in our country to 334 dead.
According to the latest information, a 74-year-old woman who was admitted to an ICU bed ended up at AHEPA at 2.00 in the morning.
Likewise, an 88-year-old woman who had been admitted to a single bed in Sotiria since 17 September ended shortly after her intubation and before being transferred to the ICU.
Both women suffered from underlying illnesses.
It is recalled that yesterday 240 new cases of coronavirus were announced while it was known that 65 people are intubated, with an average age of 69 years. 86.2% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years or older.
Of the 240 new cases, 42 are associated with known outbreaks and 34 were detected after checks at the country’s gateways. The total number of cases is 14,978, of which 55.7% are men.
Specifically, 2,576 (17.2%) are considered related to trips from abroad and 6297 (42.0%) are related to a known case.
Additionally, 65 of our fellow citizens are treated by intubation. Their average age is 69 years. 21 (32.3%) are women and the rest are men. 86.2% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years or older. 177 patients have been discharged from the ICU.

The new measures go into effect on Monday

So, From Monday, September 21 to October 4, the following measures will be applied:
- Maximum 9 people for indoor and outdoor meetings (excluding areas where special distance measures apply, such as health shops)
- Indoor and outdoor concerts are suspended and indoor film screenings are suspended
- Maximum 20 people at weddings, funerals and baptisms
- Restrict the movement of people over 65 years of age to what is absolutely necessary and avoid contact with people outside their immediate family environment and avoid traveling by public transport.
- For Attica, the residence of asymptomatic positive cases belonging to vulnerable population groups, for example, is also decided. immigrants- in quarantine hotels
The following measures are taken to protect the health of workers:
- Mandatory telecommuting for public and private sector employees performing office work or work that can be done remotely. Commute to and from work in three waves for the public sector: at 7, 8 and 9 in the morning.
- Establish flexibility in the arrival and departure of private sector workers in four waves. Within two hours from the start and end of the working day.
- Scanning of checks on employers and employees who do not comply with protective measures in the workplace. That is, the mandatory use of a mask.
- Extensive checks with EODY rapid test in workplaces and meetings in congested areas of Attica and in public and private sector services that are considered necessary for the continuous and smooth operation of the state and economy, for example. schools, public transport and especially hospitals.
