The first Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, will go in the next few days, before the European Council meeting, to Karditsa, as announced by the Prime Minister’s Press Office.
According to the announcement, at Mr. Mitsotakis’ meetings with local authorities, the damage will be assessed and the restoration measures and plan will be discussed.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister is in permanent contact with the Deputy Minister for Civil Protection and Crisis Management, Nikos Hardalia, to address the problems caused by inclement weather due to the Mediterranean cyclone, in various parts of Greece.
It is recalled that as of Saturday, by order of Mr. Mitsotakis, the Deputy Minister of the Interior, Theodoros Livanios, the Deputy Minister of Rural Development, Costas Skrekas and the Secretary General for Infrastructure, George Karagiannis, are heading to the affected areas.
As underlined Kyriakos Mitsotakis, “The first concern of the efforts is the protection of human life.”
Likewise, all necessary measures of financial support to the victims will be taken immediately.
In his remarks to SKAI on Saturday, the Minister of Justice, Tsiaras Coasts, stressed that the government will proceed by order of Mr. Mitsotakis to compensation – express to flood victims, in the model of the model that was applied after the heavy floods in Evia.
