Bad Weather: The National Weather Service’s Hazardous Weather Emergency Bulletin has been updated – Where will bad weather “hit” in the next few hours?
HE National Metereological Service updated the emergency bulletin of dangerous meteorological phenomena, issued a few days ago, at noon on Friday, based on the latest data in relation to with the course of cyclone Janus in the country.
Analytically:
1. On Friday (09-18-2020) heavy rains and thunderstorms, which will be accompanied by very stormy winds, will affect the Ionian islands, from Lefkada and further south, the Peloponnese, central Greece, mainly central and Euboea. In the Ionian Islands, very intense meteorological phenomena will show a slight weakening towards night. In Attica showers and thunderstorms will intensify at night and will continue with great intensity at intervals until noon on Saturday. In the Evia area we will have intense phenomena during the night towards Saturday.
2. On Saturday (19-09-2020) southern Ionian, Peloponnese and eastern Sterea will continue to be affected, while similar phenomena will occur in the western Cyclades and western Crete. The effects will weaken from the afternoon in southern Ionian and eastern Sterea and from the afternoon in northern Peloponnese.
3. On Sunday (20-09-2020) strong phenomena will affect, until early morning in the southern Peloponnese and until late afternoon in Crete.
