Infectious disease specialist Nikos Sypsas spoke about the critical situation with the coronavirus pandemic in Greece, sounding the alarm.
Mr. Sypsas, speaking on the morning of Friday 9/18 on Open TV, stressed that “the epidemic has taken a strong upward course” and added that we are “one step ahead of the blockade.”
The infectious disease specialist noted that “we have a great spread of the virus” and added that “Attica is closer to taking further action”, which led to the ban. “Traffic restrictions can be taken in Attica,” he said, clarifying that “the situation is not good. The schools are the last we will get to. I would prefer that they function normally.”
He also appealed to the elderly, especially grandparents, “not to hug children”, emphasizing once again that “the horizontal confinement is on the table.”
