The president of the hospital’s doctors, Matina Pagoni, spoke with SKAI and left all the possibilities open.
Anxiety about the increase in cases intensifies day by day, which yesterday rose to 359.
The possibility of a blockade is open with the infectious diseases specialist Nikos Sypsas saying yesterday (17.09) that if the new measures do not work in 10 days, the traffic of citizens will have to be limited.
“It makes sense to have a 15-day lockdown in Attica,” the president of the hospital’s doctors, Matina Pagoni, told SKAI.
As he characteristically stated, referring to the explosive increase in coronavirus cases, “by a triple digit number of cases you mean the closure in Attica.”
This will be determined by three factors:
- The number of cases
- The number of patients
- The number of intubated
If all three parameters keep going up, things are very difficult and it makes sense to take immediate action, he added. He recalled that the flu will start next month.
The plan of 3 hospitals in the battle of the coronavirus
Ms. Pagoni pointed out that financially we cannot bear a new confinement but health precedes to avoid images of Italy and England.
He stressed that as things are not going well, there are plans to enter three new large hospitals in Gennimata, Laiko and Ippokratio to help the rest in relation to the coronavirus and another 40 ICU beds.
He stressed that we all relax and that buses are hotbeds. Furthermore, it added that travelers returning from high-risk areas did not quarantine their return and this led to, among other things, the current triple-digit number.
Regarding the opening of schools, he stressed that the story did not go well in the first week. “In my opinion, teachers should take the test before they go because they are older,” he said. At the same time, he noted that anyone with an illness or fever stays home.
