Attica is in danger

Greece continues to register a high number of new cases, and EODY announced 312 new infections on Wednesday afternoon, which is the second highest number of daily registrations.

It is observed that Attica remained “red” on Wednesday As for that for one more day it is at the head of coronavirus cases in the country.

Of the 284 domestic cases, 27 are associated with known outbreaks, while 18 report recent travel within the country.

Of the total of 14041 cases, 2462 (17.5%) are considered related to travel from abroad, 5972 (42.5%) are related to a known case and the rest are not related to travel or any other known case or they are still under investigation.

Fears of even more than 1000 cases per day

“We may have more than 1,000 coronavirus cases a day, but I don’t think we’ll get to this point.” said Demosthenes Sarigiannis, Professor of Environmental Engineering at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in remarks to ANT1’s main newsletter.

“Right now there are two different scenarios, good and bad. The good shows an increase in cases in December. The bad scenario, through which cases are going in recent days, shows a rapid increase in cases since November», said Mr. Sarigiannis, emphasizing that more than 1000 cases can be registered per day.

Referring to the lockdown scenarios, the Professor of Environmental Engineering at AUTh stated that “Lockdown magazines, one or two weeks old, are reviewed so that the spread of the virus can be controlled, without creating a major problem in the functioning of society and the economy.”
