A crucial parameter, of course, is what will happen in the near future with regard to Cyprus. Although it is an independent country, it would be paradoxical for Athens and Ankara to talk while the “Yavuz” or another Turkish research vessel will be located within the EEZ of the Republic of Cyprus.

Certainly, however, Greece has demonstrated in the Evros, the Aegean and the eastern Mediterranean that it knows how to defend both its borders and its interests. It has a powerful Armed Forces, well organized and with the maximum operational preparation.
