The announcement of the emergency measures for Attica is considered a matter of a few hours, in the context of the new coronavirus outbreak registered by the largest region of Greece.
Three municipalities in Attica register the highest number of cases according to the information cited by ERT: the municipality of Atenas, the municipality of Kifissia and the municipality of Piraeus. Some of the additional measures are expected to be horizontal and not local in Attica, with the mandatory use of a mask in all enclosed spaces.
Infectious diseases professor Charalambos Gogos told ERT that experts are examining the mandatory “horizontal” use of a mask indoors, leaving open the possibility of a “strong recommendation” to citizens about wearing a mask outdoors. , where there will be overcrowding.
“The largest number of cases is in Attica and we have various ‘weapons’ to stop the virus and avoid a widespread lockdown,” he said.
