Local showers and thunderstorms starting Thursday

The first fall weather change is expected starting Thursday with local showers and storms. This is due, according to the forecast models of the National Observatory of Athens / Meteo.gr, as well as other forecast models available, to an atmospheric disturbance in the Central Mediterranean region in the coming days to move to our country, transporting liquids and unstable. gaseous masses.

Meteorologists note that:

– Due to the uncertainty of the forecasts of the transition seasons and due to the current position of the atmospheric disturbance – which is located over the sea – it is not yet clear the trajectory that it will follow, nor the dynamics that it will present.

– Some forecast models show the formation of a strong barometric low with quite strong phenomena in our country and mainly in its southern zone.

– There is the possibility of the formation of a Mediterranean Cyclone (barometric minimums known internationally as medicanes from the union of the words Mediterranean and hurricanes) with movement towards our country, but this is not yet the most likely scenario.
