The new SYRIZA brand was revealed by Alexis Tsipras.
In a post on Facebook, the party chairman wrote “Introducing the new brand SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance. This star is #for_all.”
As Alexis Tsipras states in the presentation video, “the history of our societies is the history of evolution. Human knowledge, science, dreams and aspirations. Everything is evolving. This progress is usually terrifying.
It frightens the few who have learned to reap the benefits of a society organized around their interests and desires. But evolution is the power of many. An invincible, collective and inevitable force. Without it, today we would not have public hospitals for everyone. We would not have public schools, freedom of thought and expression would not be guaranteed.
We are the product of this development. A party that grew and matured taking the helm of the country in historical moments.
A party that never stopped transforming to learn. Hear. Understand. Think. Change. “
According to the announcement, the central element of the party’s new visual identity is a star, whose five peaks symbolize values and ideals that inspire and lead the left and the Democratic Party: Democracy, Solidarity, Justice, Freedom and Equality.
