EODY: increase in ICU patients – another 5 deaths

180 new confirmed infections announced today ΕΟΔΥ, as the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread in the country.

At the same time, create intense reflection the increase in patients admitted to the ICU for intubation, since they now amount to 59, of the 54 that was the day before. It is also observed that a week ago, the number of patients in the ICU was 42.

Also, they were still registered 5 deaths, the total number of victims being 310. A week ago, the death toll was 289.

In the last 7 days, a total of 1,765 confirmed infections were registered, the average being in more than 250 cases a day. The widespread outbreak of the pandemic has prompted the government to consider taking over emergency measures which will be applied in areas with a higher epidemiological burden, which may include some points in Attica.

Today we announce 180 new cases of the new virus in the country, of which 22 are associated with known outbreaks and 21 were detected after controls at the country’s gateways. The total number of cases is 13,420, of which 55.4% are men.

2,419 (18.0%) are considered related to trips from abroad and 5789 (43.1%) are related to an already known case.

59 of our fellow citizens are being treated by intubation. Their average age is 70 years. 12 (22.2%) are women and the rest are men. 88.9% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years or older. 173 patients have been discharged from the ICU.

Finally, we have 5 more deaths registered and we have 310 deaths in total in the country. 112 (36.7%) women and the rest men. The mean age of our dying fellow citizens was 78 years and 96.4% had an underlying disease and / or were 70 years or older.
