Both defendants in the murder of businessman Giannis Makris, who lost his life in October 2018 in the death ambush that was set up outside his home in Panorama Voulas, were found guilty.
The Mixed Jury Court unanimously sentenced the 32-year-old to life imprisonment and 10 years in prison for his brother, both of Bulgarian nationality.
Specifically, the 32-year-old was convicted of the crimes of intentional homicide only, illegal possession of weapons, illegal use of weapons, while the 36-year-old was convicted of simple complicity in intentional homicide.
According to the court decision, the two convicted of the crime against the Greek-Australian businessman return to the prison where they were detained, since no one had the power of suspension on appeal.

Ms. Karyda emphasized in court that she had never realized that her 47-year-old husband was afraid of anything. and that if there was any cause for concern, the victim would have told him and taken precautionary measures.
