SYRIZA: Mr. Mitsotakis succeeded in intensifying the insecurity of citizens

Harsh criticism about Prime Minister’s announcements SYRIZA announces on TIF with its announcement, stating that “on Mr. Mitsotakis’s planet there may be self-confidence, in Greece, unfortunately, insecurity reigns.”

SYRIZA attacks the prime minister, blaming him for “his secret diplomacy causing insecurity.” Specifically, he states: “Insecurity because the tone of foreign policy is set by secret diplomacy, about which he did not say a word, while he baptized the only major difference with Turkey (EEZ / continental shelf). Insecurity because Mr. Mitsotakis announced a gigantic weapons program without cost, without the knowledge of Parliament, the parties, the institutions where the leadership of the armed forces participates and mainly without any strategic plan ”.

Fortunately, according to Mr. Mitsotakis, the Turkish investigator, who has been conducting investigations in the south of Kastellorizo for a month and a half, does not violate our sovereign rights, because otherwise we cannot imagine what he would announce. In any case, let him know that the insecurity and lack of self-confidence in the armed forces and the Greek people are born from a lack of determination and willingness to sign agreements in secret and not from a lack of weapons systems on the part of our armed forces, “says Koumoundourou.

As for the health sector, he argues that the government also creates insecurity among citizens “because the public health system has fewer employees and cannot comply with the necessary tests, of which he did not say a word.” Insecurity because he did not say a word about the schools that will open with more students per department, without exams and with fewer teachers ”.

Continuing, he attributes “insecurity in the economy, where Mr. Mitsotakis once again denies permanent income relief and support measures.” On the contrary, it insists on the wrong recipe with temporary measures, without any planning for the real economy and the needs of the citizens ”.

In response to the Prime Minister’s announcements, SYRIZA states:

  • Mr. Mitsotakis announced again the extension of the failed “Co-Work” program of half-wage work and half-wage unemployment by suspending employment contracts, measures that have already been in place for months and have led to the launch of unemployment and impoverishment of workers.
  • He announced again temporary deferrals of payments that all they do is postpone the problem a few months later by increasing the debt of individuals.
  • It announced a new round of initial repayable interest payments, in the same flawed logic that followed since the start of the pandemic. Charging new loans on the backs of over-indebted companies instead of non-reimbursable subsidies to all affected companies that face a survival problem, as SYRIZA proposed from the outset and requested by the productive bodies.
  • In lieu of substantial tax cuts, which he has been declaring out loud for a year, he announced two temporary measures.
  • It confirmed smuggling to the detriment of pensioners as, in violation of the CoC’s decision, it provocatively eliminated most of the retroactive debts to pensioners, and even excluded in retaliation all low-income pensioners from receiving even one euro.
  • He announced a reduction in insurance contributions that only benefits companies – those who will not be locked up – and not employees, as the negligible relief for employees has already evaporated from the large wage cuts, the abolition of the working day and the introduction of unpaid work. .
  • He re-announced the plan to dismantle public social security through the privatization of auxiliaries.
  • He announced that as of 1.1.2021 the protection of the first residence ends since this provides for the bankruptcy bill that he presents in Parliament, for many titles that he uses.

“Even now, Mr. Mitsotakis refuses to align himself with reality. The crisis deepens and he advances without a recovery plan for the country, constantly shifting the burden on workers and leaving small and medium-sized companies to their fate. Ultimately, the current presence of Mr. Mitsotakis only managed to intensify the insecurity of the citizens ”, concludes the official opposition.
