An elderly man was found dead in an apartment where a fire had broken out on Lykourgou Street in Kallithea.
Attempts were made to release him from the Fire Department, however when firefighters managed to locate him it was too late.
The Fire Brigade was informed shortly after five o’clock in the afternoon of a fire in a five-story apartment building on Lykourgou Street.
Command was immediately given and a strong force with 10 firefighters and 4 vehicles rushed to the scene and launched into the battle of extinction.
The fire broke out in a studio on the top floor of the apartment building and was limited to the area of the apartment.
Firefighters located the charred body of the old man during the search carried out by firefighters after the extinction.
