As the newspaper “reveals”, Turkey and Egypt are in talks to determine the EEZ between them, ignoring Kastelorizo, thus setting “fire” to events in the eastern Mediterranean.
The basis of the article is the express refusal of Egypt to agree with Greece on the Kastelorizo complex, due to the assertions of Ankara, in order not to enter into the Greek-Turkish dispute.
Turkey and Egypt have been consulting for some time on the signing of a new intelligence agreement, which was mentioned by both Tayyip Erdogan and Mevlüt Çavuşoλουlu, according to the official Turkish daily Yeni Safak.
Rear Admiral AD Kutluk said in a statement that a possible agreement between Turkey and Egypt would open a new page in the Eastern Mediterranean region, highlighting that the two countries were known to be talking about reaching it.
He added that if there is an agreement, the other countries will be demoted, commenting that Turkey still has this possibility, while Egypt will also benefit, having agreed to the eastern bazaar of Ankara.
