According to Turkish media, the Turkish Foreign Minister accused Greece of showing that it is not ready for a dialogue with Turkey.

The Turkish minister, speaking today, Thursday, in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament, said that “Germany asked us to give diplomacy a chance” but “they showed that they were not prepared for dialogue.”

At the same time, he stressed that Greece is the one that harasses the Turkish ships.

Finally, he blamed Greece and Cyprus for “maximalist goals.”

According to Hurriyet, Greek and Turkish officials had held several meetings, and therefore confidence-building measures were decided between the two countries.

“We would proceed with a joint announcement on August 7. However, a little later, unfortunately, Greece ratified the agreement with Egypt,” said Tsavousoglou among others.

He added that Turkey supported Germany’s mediation efforts and had agreed to meet with his Greek counterpart, Nikos Dendias. “However, the Greek side refused,” he added.

“We responded positively to the announcement of the NATO secretary general on September 3. But Greece said ‘yes’ at first, but after the secretary general’s explanation they said ‘no’.

“We are ready for an unconditional dialogue”

“We are ready for an unconditional dialogue.” But if Greece insists, then we insist on our conditions, “he stressed.

At the same time, Tsavousoglu called on the EU to remain impartial in Turkey’s dispute with Greece.
