The Attica Security Department for Life Crimes has investigated the murder case of the 77-year-old man that was committed on August 4 in Mandra, Attica.
The victim had been found, at noon that day, inside the house where he lived alone, without his senses.
According to the forensic examination, death occurred due to asphyxia, due to airway obstruction. He was found on his back on the sofa with pillows on his face, with which the perpetrator choked him.
A comprehensive investigation by the Department of Crimes Against Life revealed that the perpetrator was an 18-year-old from Kuwait, whom he later met the victim and invited to his home to meet.
The motive of the crime is theft. In the early morning of that day, the 18-year-old took a moment and began to search the drawers. Then the old man noticed him and they quarreled, with the result that the young aggressor threw him on the couch and strangled him with the pillows. The assailant ran away from the house with his cheap loot that cost 30 euros and an old mobile phone.
A dossier was formed for the case, which was presented to the Athens Prosecutor and an arrest warrant was issued under which the 18-year-old was arrested.
