A former deputy mayor of the Municipality of N. Pelion, who was responsible for electricity and due to negligence or lack of maintenance by the Municipality, will be seated at the seat of the Single Juvenile Court of Volos, an 8-year-old boy from Romania, who took a vacation in Milina, on August 16, 2019, while playing on the beach was hit by the current of the bare pole cables of the municipal lighting.

The preliminary examination assigned to him in mid-October 2019 was completed and the Prosecutor’s Office processed in a less serious manner for bodily injury due to the negligence of a person responsible, who had the legal obligation to avoid the accident, based on article 314 para. 2 of the Penal Code.

The incident had worried and disturbed public opinion. It was Friday night, when the boy who was on vacation with his parents in the area, while playing on the beach bridge in the village, was “hit” by a stream of naked cables from a municipal lighting column in the beach.

At the point recorded by magnesianews.gr, panic had prevailed, but fortunately the boy quickly recovered and shortly after an ambulance transferred him to the Argalasti Health Center. The incident took place shortly after another accident on Milina beach, where a vacationer fell through a hole in a wooden passage.
