On this occasion, a new message was sent from 112 to the residents of Anavyssos to leave their homes due to the fire that spread from Feriza Keratea and threatens the area in general.
The message calls on citizens who are in Anavyssos to evacuate for precautionary reasons by road to Saronida from Anavyssos – Karamanlis – Sounio avenue.
A similar message was sent earlier to the residents of the Agios Panteleimonas or Aris Saronida settlement to head to the beach at Palea Fokea.
The fire front in Saronikos Municipality is intense, with containment and demarcation of the fire becoming extremely difficult due to the strong winds blowing and the atmosphere is suffocating in the wider area.
The fire brigade that has rushed to the scene has been reinforced and now operates 117 firefighters, 7 groups of pedestrians, 35 vehicles, 5 airplanes and 8 helicopters.
According to the Anavyssos report, the fire has burned a large area of forest while some yards, houses and warehouses have been burned.
At the same time, many citizens have been released successfully and the men of the fire brigade managed to reduce the fire front so as not to proceed to Palea Fokea.
It is recalled that in the municipality of Saronikos, which until now has been declared in a state of emergency, Palea Fokea, ATE, Drosia, Agiasmothi and their wider areas have also been evacuated.
The situation in the Municipality of Saronikos has improved slightly at this time, compared to the fire that broke out at noon in the Feriza settlement, as the representative of the Fire Department Vassilis Vathrakogiannis told SKAI.
He stressed that the environment in the wider area is suffocating and visibility is very low, which is why the traffic regulations came into force from the beginning.
Mr. Vathrakogiannis noted that firefighters are fighting an uphill battle, as wind gusts earlier exceeded 8 Beaufort.
He explained that there is not a single front, but many small outbreaks, saying that one of the causes of the spread of the fire was the many orthopedic areas.
At the same time, by order of the Chief of the Fire Brigade, Lieutenant General Stefanos Kolokouris, a unit of the Directorate of Arson Crimes has traveled to the area of the Saronic municipality of Attica to investigate the causes of the fire.
In constant communication with the Minister of Civil Protection Michalis Chrysochoidis and the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management Nikos Hardalia, who are early in the Fire Department Operations Coordination Center, to coordinate actions to deal with the fires in various areas of the country. , is Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis
As the Prime Minister stressed, in parallel to actions for the preservation of the natural environment and property, the first objective remains the protection of human life.
