Photos posted on Facebook by the NGO Stand by me Lesbos clearly show the scale of the disaster in Moria.
Much of the camp has been completely destroyed by forest fires. According to the information, the administration and identification infrastructures were not burned, but the Asylum Service and its equipment were completely burned.
Approximately 13,000 people living in and around KYT fled to surrounding properties. Among them are families with babies, who managed to get what they could of their belongings and leave the camp.
The reason for the intensity that preceded the fires inside and outside the KYT Moria structure appears to be the reaction of a group of immigrants to the news that after 2,000 EODY sampling controls, 35 positive cases were identified within the structure.
