The coronavirus epidemic is in a mild recession in our country, as evidenced by EODY data, there is a small reduction in daily cases.
However, in no case have we escaped the danger, while there are still several open fronts that cause headaches for the experts.
Initially, despite the decrease in cases in recent days, there has been a small increase in the death toll, since in the last ten days a total of 28 people have lost the battle.
At the same time, the Attica region continues to present an increasing epidemiological burden, especially the municipalities of Athens and Piraeus.
Apart from the above, there is no end to the series of cases in closed refugee structures, but also in areas like Giannitsa, with the result that EODY’s steps are constantly in “red”.
It is noted that 65 new cases were announced in Attica yesterday, while an alarm sounded at the Giannitsa factory where 46 cases were detected.
According to data on the spread of coronavirus cases in Greece, 6 cases were announced yesterday in PE Imathia, of which 1 is associated with confluence, while 3 report contact with a confirmed case, 6 cases in PE Pella, of which 1 is associated with confluence and 7 cases in PE Pieria, of which 1 is connected by confluence.
As Gikas Majorkinis, associate professor at the EKPA Faculty of Medicine and a member of the Expert Committee of the Ministry of Health, stated yesterday, the number of cases shows a tendency to fall below 200 daily cases.
This decrease in the number of cases is accompanied, however, by a slight increase in the number of intubated patients, since the data show that about ten people are admitted to the ICU every ten days.
Expert concern for Moria and Giannitsa
Regarding the situation in Moria, according to the professor of the EKPA School of Medicine, Giga Majorkini, the EODY team, in collaboration with the Ministry of Immigration, examined 2,000 people. Of these, 35 cases were found.
Of the 100 staff members tested, not a single positive was found.
The professor pointed out that the need to control the spread of the epidemic in these structures is of great importance for the health of people who we know have suffered in the long term.
In any case, local outbreaks are at the center while what happens to the coronavirus outbreak in Moria, especially the fire that broke out in KYT, causing extensive damage is unknown.
In fact, so far the 35 positive cases of coronavirus that remained in the KYT health structure, as well as its approximately 80 contacts that were in quarantine, have not been found.
According to the first information, the 35 cases have been isolated, however the president of EODY goes to the island in order to assess the situation, since it is not ruled out that he will track again after the effervescence in KYT.
Padlock on the factory home in Giannitsa
At the same time, positive results were found for the coronavirus and 46 at the Giannitsa factory, at a time when traces and the application of restrictive measures in specific outbreaks continue.
However, the situation at the Giannitsa factory is completely under control, while close contacts of the cases have been isolated.
Apart from scattered coronavirus outbreaks, Attica is still in the virus’s “red zone”, as a result of which new emergency measures may be announced to deal with the pandemic.
In detail, the municipalities of Attica that have the sad advantage are the municipality of Athens and then the municipality of Piraeus.
These municipalities of Attica have the most cases
In the southern suburbs, there is a significant decrease in the number of new cases compared to previous weeks when there was a high epidemic burden, due to the immediate intervention of the municipalities.
Finally, regarding the image of the northern periphery, the cases remain at high levels, without being in the “red”.
New measures on the doors
It is noted that the government is considering new measures.
-According to information from in.gr, infectious disease specialists at the Prime Minister’s meeting proposed stricter measures to limit the spread of the deadly virus.
-The implementation of the measures will be decided if it is estimated that the situation tends to “escape”, especially with the opening of schools. Furthermore, in other countries the return of students to the classroom was accompanied by an increase in cases, something that is also feared in Greece.
-According to in.gr information, the measurements that fell on the table are:
– the widespread use of the mask, with information indicating that experts will decide in the coming days whether it will be mandatory outdoors.
-the change of store hours, which is the first time that experts have discussed with such intensity and this because it seems to be the only way to decongest public transport. The information from in.gr indicates that stores that open at 9:00 am could open at 10 am, while respectively one hour later, commercial stores (malls) will open, which now open at 10 in the morning.
the closure of restaurants at 12:00, which is not essentially a new directive, but a continuation of the previous one
