Evros: with the help of Turkish soldiers, migrants cross the border

The way immigrants are transported greek borders the Turkish side brought Star’s main newsletter to the “light” of advertising.

Two documentary photos show how Turkish armor encourages migrants to cross the Greek border. As seen in the photos, the Turks roll “crooked” eyes when immigrants enter Evros.

In the first photo taken a few days ago, the migrants appear to be crossing a river from Turkey to Greece, while above their heads there is a Turkish military vehicle that is just looking at them.

Its doors appear to be open and Turkish soldiers have come out, not to arrest the immigrants, but to patrol in case they find Greeks or Frontex men. In case they see something, they inform the immigrants to go elsewhere and come to Greece.

Furthermore, the Greek forces appear to have located the migrants before boarding the boats, for which they are forced to return before reaching Greek territory. In fact, it seems certain that they will try again with the right Turkish help.

Increased pressure is observed in Evros with dozens of immigrants trying to cross to the Greek side. Frontex forces, as well as the police, have created security zones, as a result of which they locate illegal immigrants before entering Greek territory.

In recent hours, army men have been shot at key points in Evros, while police vehicles and cages “scan” the area. Irregular migrants try to invade villages every day, residents say.

Hundreds of migrants try to cross the country

Groups of immigrants plunge into Evros to reach Greece. More of 500 immigrants every day they try to enter the country from various places and cause confusion, even from areas where Greeks and Turks are with their finger on the trigger.

Greater migratory flows are observed where the river level is low, as in Pythion and winter, while many try to enter from Tychero, where surveillance of the area is particularly difficult.

The special business plan

A special business plan with three zones from the river to the villages brings the vast majority of immigrants into the hands of the police. The drones, the thermal cameras, but also the 400 new border guards added to the force, are a shield for the borders of Evros.

Characteristically, 80% of those trying to cross are not refugees, but immigrants from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.
