Instantly was the response of the official opposition leader to Kyriako Mitsotaki when the latter challenged him to mention how much the Santorini party cost for the unprecedented opening of tourism.
Referring to the setbacks and omissions of the government in relation to the start of the tourist season, Alexis Tsipras pointed to the press conference that the Prime Minister gave in mid-June against the backdrop of the Santorini sunset.
“How much did it cost?” Kyriakos Mitsotakis asked him to come off the microphone, and the president of SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance responded that the amount amounts to approximately 80,000 euros. The prime minister disagreed and ND deputies commented harshly on Al. Tsipras.
Raising his tone, the leader of the official opposition recalled the scene of the party with the wives of the ministers and not only, speaking of waste of public money. “You have to tell us how much it costs. Bring the papers …”, he stressed, addressing Mr. Mitsotakis, adding that even a 15,000-euro bill was cut at a gas station on the island.
“Don’t challenge me. You will get answers when you challenge me …” Al. Tsipras concluded significantly.
