EODY announced 156 new cases of coronavirus in our country in the last 24 hours.

In the past few hours, five of our fellow citizens have died from complications from the virus. The latest victim is a 51-year-old woman who was recently hospitalized in the ICU of the Thriasio General Hospital in Elefsina. She was reportedly suffering from underlying illnesses. It is recalled that previously a 74-year-old Athenian and an 84-year-old had lost the battle.

According to the EODY announcement, 42 of our fellow citizens are hospitalized in the ICU, while the total number of deaths from coronavirus in our country now stands at 289.

Scientists are seen to be moderately optimistic, after the slight reduction in new coronavirus cases registered in recent days. But also Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in his speech in Parliament at the leadership level on the effects of the coronavirus, stressed that “the last 7 days the data show a balance again, possibly a small reduction” that is not a reason for complacency as pointed out.
