Referring to Europe, where there are now more than 4,300,000 coronavirus infections, Gogos noted that it appears to be facing a type of second wave, in which Greece is also found. The phenomenon in Europe seems to be related to the lifting of restrictive measures, relative relaxation and absolute non-compliance with regulations, said the infectious diseases specialist.

Gogos: The situation with the coronavirus is critical

In addition, Charalambos Gogos pointed out that in Greece from the beginning of August until today 841 imported cases have been registered out of a total of 6,320, noting that 30% of them are asymptomatic, while 66% come from contact with an established case. Gogos: therapeutic measures against the coronavirus have improved a lot

The infectious disease specialist was also optimistic about the medical treatment of the coronavirus. As he said, therapeutic measures have been greatly improved and this gives comfort to the treatment of patients.

“We are doing quite well in the hospitals, in terms of safeguarding the national system,” he said. Charalambos Gogos closed the briefing with an appeal: do not have your ears open to misinformation, listen to scientists and scientific data, even if we do not always agree with them, he said.
