His collaboration with the “ver” may expire in the summer of 2022, but Embila is in negotiations with the management of the French team to be released immediately. Such development paves the way for Olympiacos.

The player himself, who is not considered a key player by Claude Piel, lobbied for a contract termination, while Saint-Etienne was also looking to shed his high contract. There is still no agreement with Olympiakos regarding its annual earnings, but from the moment it will be free and given the rojiblanco interest, it is estimated that the golden section will be found.

It was only on Thursday (9/3) that Mathieu Valbouena admitted Olympiacos’ interest in Jan Embillas and stated that the 30-year-old Saint-Etienne midfielder and his former teammate on the French team want to come to Greece for the rojiblancos.

Jan Embila was born in Amiens on June 29, 1990 and began his career at the team academies in his hometown. He moved to the infrastructure departments of Mand and Rehn, with which he made his professional debut.

In 2013 he was sold to Rubin Kazan for € 12,000,000, while the Russian team loaned him to Inter and Sunderland. He was repatriated in 2018 on behalf of the ver. Last season (2019-2020) he played 23 games in Ligue 1 (the season ended early due to the spread of the coronavirus), in 4 in the Cup and in 1 in the League Cup, while he also had 5 appearances in the Europa League.

This year (2020-2021) he played in the match of the second match – Saint-Etienne 2-0 home win over Lorient – when he passed in the 71st minute in place of Boanga.
